Back to basics

I’ve recently started talking about basics on my instagram, and wanted to continue that on my blog. I think it’s the foundation to a great wardrobe. If you have the basics you can layer in different pieces to get you through each season!

Lets start with these jeans. They are the perfect basic to have in your wardrobe. Everyone needs a pair of distressed jeans, they are super cute for spring and summer, and are very casual. I love this pair because they are not overly distressed.

These sneakers are another favorite basic of mine. They are the Vans Authentic’s in the color Birch. I love they are not pure white, although pure white is an option. I think the off white tone is perfect to go with darker and lighter colors. I also love the support they have, you can easily wear these all day long!

Then there is this top. It’s a great light weight basic to wear throughout the year. It can be worn as a layering piece in the colder months, and on its own in the cooler months. I love the little side knot detail it has! Now a basic white long sleeves had a little more visual interest and is more exciting when worn on its own.

Another essential to have in your wardrobe is a great pair of sunglasses. You want something that is going to be classic, to me that says tortious shell. They will never go out of style and are perfect for a casual outfit all the way to a fancy dress up event.

I also feel strongly that everyone needs a basic diamond of faux diamond stud earring. These are the perfect everyday earring. You can do a single stone, or a multi stone like these crawlers, just make sure they are a clear stone.

These pieces all worn together are the perfect casual look for spring!
