Sunny Sunroom

The sunroom in our house is like an oasis, whenever we are sitting in there I feel so cozy and relaxed, I think it’s my favorite room in our house!

First of all I just bought this palm plant from Lowe’s and its starting to hang over the couch like a shade, so naturally when I sit on the couch and have a palm leaf hanging over my head I’m very relaxed feeling because it’s like I’m on an island somewhere!

I didn’t want to put the plant in an ordinary ceramic pot, so I decided on this multi colored woven basket form Home Goods. I think it’s so much fun to change up the expected and do something unique.

Our couch is from Ikea, and so are these pillows. You buy the inserts and the covers separately, they matched perfectly back to our Sunbrella chairs, so I had to go with the blue and white covers. I love that they unzip and can be thrown in the wash! The couch is also fully slip covered, and everything can be taken off and washed as well. We entertain on the sunroom a lot so it’s great knowing these pieces are safe from any spills!

The wooden furniture in the room, two chairs, coffee table, and small side table are all Martha Stewart home. they are intended for outdoor use, but they are perfect for this room since it’s a bit of an indoor outdoor space. This room is fully lined with windows on all three sides, with the addition of a door to out deck on one of the three sides. This larger white pillow is from Target, and floats between the sunroom and our living room. The marble topped side table is also a target find, and our coasters are from a shop in Martha’s Vineyard called Serenity. They have all the names of the towns in Marthas Vineyard on them.

We have this large blue dresser in the room that we use as a TV stand. This dresser is from Ikea, and was something we have had for years now, it has really held the test of time in my opinion, and works great in this room because we have a drawer for entertaining accessories, a drawer for blankets, one for games, etc. etc. it has so much storage and I love that!

On the dresser I have recently added this little candle holder I found at Home Goods, It is drift wood that has a glass jar inside that you can put any candle into. I think ill use a flameless so there isn’t any worry about having to blow it out!

On one of our side tables we have another set of coasters, I think it’s key to have coasters everywhere because when your entertaining people can grab them and don’t have to ask for them. These are from a little shop in downtown Portsmouth called Goods. They are just a bit of nautical rope twisted up. I guess I could have done a DIY for these, but I didn’t think about that until after I bought them.

On our coffee table we have this vintage photo developing tray from an antique market, in there we have added these ceramic dice, also from the antique market, and this book New England Doorways, again from the antique market that actually has doorways from Portsmouth, and New Castle featured in it! Very exciting because those towns are right next door to us, and Portsmouth is where we lived before moving here!

This is a great piece to have in the room because it’s a conversation starter! The photo clip is from Crate and Barrel, it usually features out dog!

Aren’t these dice the coolest thing?

We have a second chair in the room that has the same blue and white striped cushions on them, they are Sunbrella and can also be zipped off and washed! This fun little pillow was given to me by my best friend, and is from a cute shop on Etsy!

This blue and white rug is from Target, and is an indoor/outdoor rug. I chose to by this type of rug because the room leads to our back deck, and there is a lot of foot traffic in here, so it’s more durable to snowy boots, and grassy feet.

The last piece of the sunroom puzzle is this bar cart. It’s perfect for entertaining. It’s mango wood, and part of the Smith and Hawken collection from Target. I chose this bar cart because I wanted it to be something that can be taken from inside to outside and not have to worry about it being ruined. Its great to have  it on wheels for that reason!

On the bottom of the cart I have these two vintage locker baskets that were bought at the antique market, and in them I have Moscow Mule Mugs, cocktail shakers, wine coasters, cocktail napkins, drink tags etc. All the essentials for entertaining.

On the top of the cart I have this Vintage Cocktails book from Anthropologie. My sister gave it to me for Christmas one year when she knew I was looking to make a little bar station on my house, at the time I was using the blue Ikea dresser with a tray as a bar station, now that we have moved and have room for an actual bar cart we the book has a new home!

On top of the book I have this fun whales tail statue that I bought at Home Goods. I just love it for this room, and I love the added height it brings to the cart!

we also have this Funky Rock Designs drink dispenser on our cart. This is made from Granite and when you put a bottle upside down in it you can dispense liquor from the spout. We used this with vodka when we had a party and were serving Moscow Mules!

I hope you enjoyed my sunny sunroom tour, cheers to the weekend!
